The answer to one’s question may be on the cards or written in the stars.
Introduction
My name is Kevin.
I am an amateur fortune-teller who interprets tarot cards and horary astrology charts.
Diary of a Fortune-Teller comprises resources that include descriptions of some of the tarot readings that I have held, descriptions of some of the horary astrology charts that I have interpreted, and articles in which I discuss the iconography of tarot cards.
My Favourite Tarot Cards (In Order of Preference)
[Note: in accordance with the publicised recommendations of the International Playing-Card Society, I use the terms pattern sheet 7 [1] in reference to the Swiss Tarot, the term pattern sheet 5 [2] in reference to the Tarocco Milanese, and the term pattern sheet 2 in reference to the second of two Tarot de Marseille patterns.]
1. The French version of pattern sheet 7 that was published by AGM under the title Tarot 1JJ.
The earliest known version of pattern sheet 7 is attributed to Johannes Müller and is thought to have been produced in Diessenhofen, Switzerland, circa 1860 [3].
Pattern sheet 7 features the Italian suits of batons, coins, goblets, and swords.
Though my favourite version of pattern sheet 7 is currently out of print, an English version of the said pattern sheet is currently published by AGM Urania: http://www.tarotworld.com/shop/tarot/tarot-all-cards-decks/32aa146c359334c1753812c17658e526.html?tx_kfproducts_pi1%5BshowUid%5D=1
Regrettably, the aforesaid English version features the following errors and alterations:
– The sixth trump card is incorrectly titled The Lovers (the French title L’amoureux translates as The Lover).
– The sixteenth trump card is incorrectly titled The Tower (the French title La Maison de Dieu translates as The House of God).
– The suit of batons is renamed wands.
– The suit of coins is renamed pentacles.
2. The version of pattern sheet 5 that was published by Fratelli Avondo in Serravalle Sesia, Italy, in 1880 [4]. A facsimile reproduction of the said version was published by Lo Scarabeo under the misleading title Ancient Italian Tarot: https://www.llewellyn.com/product.php?ean=9780738700267#navbars
The several versions of pattern sheet 5 are modelled after the engravings that were produced by Carlo Dellarocca 1835 [5].
Like pattern sheet 7, pattern sheet 5 features Italian suits.
3. The version of pattern sheet 2 that was published by Pierre Madenié in Dijon, France, in 1709 [6]. A facsimile reproduction of the said version is currently published by Yves Reynaud of Tarot de Marseille Heritage: https://www.tarot-de-marseille-heritage.com/english/catalogue_madenie1709.html
Like pattern sheets 7 and 5, pattern sheet 2 features Italian suits.
Concerning the Omission of Names From Readings and Consultations
For practical reasons, I generally omit names when documenting tarot readings or horary astrology consultations.
If in order to protect the identity of one or more enquirers or subjects, I may conceal my own identity by referring to myself in the third person.
Concerning the Software With Which I set Astrological Charts
I currently set all my astrological charts using Morinus, which is a free piece of astrological software that is relatively easy to use and that, in my opinion, is more than sufficient for the purpose of practicing horary astrology.
[Commentary: I add to the horary charts that I publish to the present blog a watermark using CorelDRAW, which is a premium piece of graphic design software that I use in almost all of my graphic design projects.]
Concerning the Logo That I use for the Present Blog
The pictorial element of the logo that I use for the present blog is taken from the nineteenth trump card of the version of pattern sheet 2 that was published by Pierre Madenié in Dijon, France, in 1709.
The typeface that features in the aforesaid logo is Minion Pro.
[Commentary: concerning the aforesaid typeface, I may have manually adjusted the kerning, the tracking, or both.]
